History

Astaire was formed in 1960 as a stockbroking partnership and incorporated in 1972 when permitted by London Stock Exchange rules.

Astaire rapidly acquired international expertise, being the second London stockbroker to become a full member of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange and a Founder Shareholder of Euroclear. Following the sale of the company to Credit Lyonnais in 1986, Steven Astaire headed a "management buy in" during 1990.

In June 2008 the company became a wholly owned subsidiary of Astaire Group Plc.
